Glen Martin – Computer Science A

 

Course Description

 

This course is for both new and experienced computer science teachers teaching APCS A classes.  It is designed to increase the participant's knowledge and provide projects that can be used with students.  A broad range of APCS A topics are covered including AP Exam free response problems, Java 5.0, and the new GridWorld case study.  Participants will also receive the latest news from the 2008 reading.

 

 

 

Presenter

 

Glen Martin is the computer science teacher at the School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas.  He serves as an AP Reader for the Educational Testing Service, grading the AP Computer Science exams.  In 2005, 2006, and 2007 his school was recognized by the College Board for "Leading the nation/world in helping the widest segment of their total school population attain college-level mastery of AP Computer Science A and AB".  He received the Texas Instruments STEM Innovation in Teaching award in 2007 and the Texas Siemens Advanced Placement Teacher of the Year award in 2006.
