Course Outline

 

I.  Objectives: 

The aim of this week-long workshop is to provide the participants with the following:

 

      ---Guidelines for setting up an AP Spanish literature class curriculum

---Teaching materials for a level V Spanish literature class (grammar/culture aspects);

---Teaching materials for a level V Spanish  class (College Board Curriculum);

---Useful strategies for teaching AP Spanish literary texts;

---Analysis and interpretation of selected literary texts:  “El burlador de Sevilla”/

      “Chac-Mool” / “A Roosevelt”  / “La siesta del martes;

---Explanation & application of literary terms;

---Discussion of AP literature exam:  content & format;

---Discussion of AP literature exam:  assessment & evaluation.

 

II.  Participant Performance Expectations:

 

            --Perfect attendance;

--Prompt arrival;

--Active participation;

--Willingness to read and analyze one literary text, as homework;

--Willingness to share teaching strategies;

--Willingness to share learning materials.
