This week will be spent exploring techniques and best practices for teaching Pre AP American History. Please bring your favorite lesson to share with the group. Topics to be covered range from Viking exploration, speaking 18th century English, the Petticoat wars, life among the lowly in the early 19th century, the Underground Railroad, Transcendentalism, the Utopian societies, the fiery fifties and the Civil War and Reconstruction. This list is fluid and can be changed to suit the needs of the participants. I believe in hands-on experiential learning, so please come prepared to participate. This will NOT be a week of sitting quietly, listening to me.
