Pre-AP Middle School Science; Earth/Physical

The purpose of this workshop is to equip all middle school Science teachers, especially those with limited experience, with strategies and concepts to use in their classrooms which will ensure that their students will be prepared for withstanding the rigors of future AP courses.  Participants should come willing to engage in discussions, hands-on labs, assessment formation, and opportunities incorporated throughout the week to enhance the curriculum with active learning.   Science integration of math skills, technology, vocabulary, and inquiry skills involving labs and activities providing foundations in the physical/chemical world, life sciences and geology will be addressed. Emphasis will be placed on vertical teaming.

Participants should dress comfortably, bring a 2-liter bottle to class by mid-week, and be prepared to share a favorite lab/activity on Friday.
