Chemical Engineering Majors:
The BS degree in Chemical Engineering is accredited by ABET, the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. ABET requires demonstrated adherence to a a set of criteria for a program to be accredited.
Educational Objectives:
Our Educational Objectives are to prepare our students, through a high-quality course of instruction involving classroom, laboratory, and professional activities, for successful employment in the chemical process industries, including energy-related industries, environmental, materials, or biotechnology, for graduate studies in chemical engineering; or for graduate studies in other fields such as medicine, law and business administration.
The Department of Chemical Engineering offers a curriculum leading to the traditional BS (Bachelor of Science) with options:
Each option features focus areas of specialized coursework so students are able to choose the program which best meet their career goals.
The department offers a 4/1 program leading to both a BS and Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering.
Chemical Engineering Minors:
Students desiring to minor in chemical engineering must satisfy curriculum requirements set by the faculty of chemical engineering, and requirements vary depending upon the educational credentials of the student. Please see the department chair for further information.
