Life Skills Workshops |
Co-sponsored
by The Graduate School and
Counseling & Psychological Services Center
Understanding
interpersonal styles and team building skills are beneficial in the formation of
master’s and dissertation committees. Team building skills are also
transferable to the workplace after graduation and may aid in building a
successful career. Participants will complete an interpersonal style assessment;
information obtained from this assessment will be applied during the workshop.
(Students who have completed an interpersonal style assessment may not need to
attend the first 30 minutes of the workshop, but do need to bring the results of
the test with them and contact Dr. Heidi Holeman (631-2200) for approval). Dean
Haggerty will discuss committee composition related to academic expertise, building teams, and understanding how interpersonal styles
relate to the development of effective teams.
The
purpose of this workshop is to:
·
identify my particular interpersonal
style,
·
help me gain a better understanding of
others and myself,
·
help me predict how others and I might
respond in a given situation,
·
learn to apply this knowledge to
building a thesis or dissertation committee, and
·
learn applications of interpersonal
styles & team building in the workplace.
Class size is limited; please
RSVP to reserve your
seat.
