Plagiarism and How to Avoid It

 Sponsored by The Graduate School

Most students and professionals would never consciously commit plagiarism.  Unfortunately, many have accidentally plagiarized.  Some plagiarism occurs because of cultural differences and preconceptions about what is expected when one uses the work of others.  Whether plagiarism is accidental or not, it can lead to serious difficulties including academic probation or even dismissal from school, loss of financial support, and sometimes permanent damage to one’s reputation.

The purpose of this workshop is to:

 ·        help you understand the consequences of plagiarism,

 ·        and more importantly help you learn to identify and avoid plagiarism.

Associate Dean Richard Redner and Assistant Dean John Bury of the Graduate School invite you to join us for this important discussion.

Class size is limited; please RSVP to reserve your seat.
