Harassment:

Defining It, Avoiding It, and Reporting It

Most students and professionals would not consciously or intentionally harass another person.  Unfortunately, harassment does occur.  Harassment may occur because of preconceptions about acceptable behavior or acceptable speech.  Whether harassment was intentional or not, it can lead to serious difficulties including dismissal from the Graduate School, loss of assistantship or fellowship, and perhaps permanent damage to your reputation, and for victims it can permanently affect their lives.
