Class of '91, '96
Tulsa attorney Lori Roberts is proud of the fact she attended college in her childhood city. A two-time alumna of The University of Tulsa (BA ’91, J.D. ’96), she is a local attorney and newly appointed member of the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry.
Roberts began her post-law school career at The Williams Companies, Inc., and Williams Communications Group, Inc. in 1997. Over the course of five years at Williams, she worked in multiple positions including senior attorney and assistant corporate secretary. She also spent a year employed in the company’s business unit as senior manager of contract management.
After Williams, Roberts joined Drummond Law, PLLC, as an associate and supervising attorney where she worked until accepting her current position in 2011 as a member of the Carroll, Ward & Roberts, PLLC law firm. In addition to her duties in Tulsa, she will volunteer as a public member of the Board of Dentistry. As one of two public representatives appointed by Gov. Mary Fallin to the 11-member board, she helps oversee dentist and dental hygienist license applications and also serves on review panels for complaint investigations.
From attorney to public interest servant, Roberts said her TU education allowed her the opportunity to do much more than simply pursue a legal career.
“Both the undergraduate and law school degrees I received at TU have been invaluable,” she said. “Like many others before and after me, a good undergraduate liberal arts education taught me to broaden my perspective, and the analytical skills I learned in law school have been useful far beyond the practice of law. I am happy to be at a stage in my career and personal life where I can spend more time in public service.”
