
Jeffrey J. McDougall
Class of '84
Jeffrey J. McDougall (BS '84) is President and principal owner of JMA Energy Company and its affiliates headquartered in Oklahoma City. Founded in 1986, JMA Energy Company is a leader among Oklahoma's independent oil and gas companies. Prior to founding JMA, Mr. McDougall worked as a Petroleum Engineer for Triad Drilling Company and as a consulting Petroleum Engineer.
Mr. McDougall is an active member of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association (OIPA) and serves as a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He also currently holds the position of President of the Wildcatters Club of Oklahoma. Previous positions with OIPAinclude Treasurer and Co-Chairman to its Federal Issues Committee. In 2005, he provided testimony before the United States Senate - Environment and PublicWorks Committee concerning producer issues.
Mr. McDougall earned his bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Tulsa, where he currently serves on its Board of Trustees. He also serves on the Board of Directors for both Special Care, Inc. and the Harold Hamm Oklahoma Diabetes Center in Oklahoma City.
In October 2010, Mr. McDougall announced his strategic investment in Petroleum Engineering education in the College of Engineering and Natural Science. His gift is underwriting a director to lead the school and engage stakeholders. It also established the Dr. Kermit Brown Endowment Fund to support faculty through salary supplements, research incentives, and future initiatives to advance the school. To honor his support, the university renamed the program the McDougall School of Petroleum Engineering.
