Class of 2014 - Energy Management and Finance; minor in Theater
I remember being in my business orientation seminar and hearing a presentation given by Caroline Fox in the Business Career Center, she strongly encouraged us to take advantage of the resources that the Business Career Center offers. From resume building to professional workshops, to industry networking opportunities, she was determined to help us develop professionally.
Throughout the entire school year, I met with the Business Career Center constantly. Whether it was a series of mock interviews, or learning how to communicate effectively with employers, I was gaining confidence in my studies, communication, and most importantly myself. This ultimately led to an internship offer at the end of my first semester as a freshman.
Looking back on my freshman year I realize that my achievements both academically and professionally would not have been nearly as successful if it was not for the confidence the Business Career Center instilled in me. As a sophomore double majoring in Energy Management and Finance, I believe that the skills I have learned and continue to learn, will carry me throughout my professional career.
