TITAN is the answer to the perennial question, “What should I do my thesis/dissertation/senior project on?”  My involvement TITAN has brought me the opportunity to interact with both local and national leaders in their fields.  The interdisciplinary framework is useful for several reasons: it encourages me to think more broadly, highlights the ways in which different fields conceptualize the same problem from a different angle, and instills a working model for collaboration between professionals.

As a Clinical Psychology doctoral student, specializing in trauma, and beginning work on my dissertation, I have been involved in TITAN throughout my tenure at the University of Tulsa.  My research and clinical interests center around interpersonal violence, PTSD, and sexual trauma.  Both my precandidacy project and a number of other presentations have grown out of TITAN research projects.   Most importantly for me, however, TITAN provides an opportunity for professional modeling to take place, both by observing faculty and other graduate students.  I look forward to watching TITAN grow and expand in coming years and hope to continue my collaboration into my own professional career.
