Nimrod Awards Dinner and Celebration

Join Nimrod International Journal for the 35th Annual Awards Dinner in celebration of the winners and judges of Nimrod's annual writing conference.
The Dinner will feature a keynote speech by National Book Award finalist Cristina García, readings of poetry and fiction by Award-winners Jacob M. Appel, Sarah Crossland, Kristina Gorcheva-Newberry, and Lynn Shoemaker, and music by Vintage Wildflowers. Single tickets to the event are $60, and full and half tables, which feature seating with special guest writers, are also available. The event will be held in the Allen Chapman Activity Center on October 18th at 6:30 pm.
Nimrod is also offering a special Two-Day Pass for the entire Awards Weekend, which includes admission to the Awards Dinner on the 18th and Nimrod's Conference for Readers and Writers on the 19th. The conference is an all-day writing conference with workshops in fiction, poetry, memoir, young adult fantasy, writing queries and synopses for literary agents, and more. The day also includes one-on-one editing sessions with the Nimrod board of editors, readings, and panel discussions. Key guests include fiction writers Cristina García, author of King of Cuba, and Joan Leegant, author of Wherever You Go; poets Aimee Nezhukumatathil, author of Lucky Fish, Millicent Borges Accardi, author of Injuring Eternity, and Oklahoma Poet Laureate Nathan Brown, author of Karma Crisis; memoirist Jon Katz, author of The Dogs of Bedlam Farm; young adult fantasy writers Jessica Spotswood, author of Born Wicked, and Eilis O'Neal, author of The False Princess; and over thirty other writers and editors.
