Arturo Herrera Lecture

The University of Tulsa School of Art and Philbrook Museum of Art will partner to host international art star and TU alumnus Arturo Herrera (BFA '82). Herrera will speak on his artistic process, career and more before taking questions from the audience.

Utilizing fragments of imagery borrowed from popular culture, Herrera creates collages, felt sculptures and wall paintings that lie on the shifting border between legibility and abstraction. A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Herrera has exhibited widely in galleries and museums throughout the United States and Europe. His large-scale project, Door, (2009) is now on display in the Meinig Gallery of the Philbrook Muesum's downtown facility.

Arturo HerreraThe event is free with Philbrook Museum admission. Museum admission is free for Philbrook members, youth 17 and younger, and TU students, faculty and staff (with valid TU ID).

Adult - $9
Senior citizens and students - $7.50

Guests purchasing admission at Philbrook's main campus may visit the downtown facility on September 22 with no additional fee.
