Oklahoma native and Peabody Award-winning host of American Public Media’s “On Being” Krista Tippett will be the inaugural speaker at the Harold E. Hill Lecture Series at 7 p.m. April 7 in the Great Hall of the Allen Chapman Activity Center on The University of Tulsa Campus.
The event is free and open to the public.
The author of Einstein’s God: Conversations About Science and the Human Spirit and Speaking of Faith, Tippett explores the intersection of science, medicine, theology and philosophy in her writing and on her weekly radio program heard on nearly 300 public radio stations nationwide, including Public Radio Tulsa-KWGS, where it’s broadcast at noon on Sundays.
The Harold E. Hill Lecture Series, a program of College Hill Presbyterian Church (CHPC), honors the late Rev. Dr. Harold Hill for his lifetime of work to promote an intellectually honest, scientifically based understanding of religion, and his dedication to work for justice in the communities in which he was a part. Hill was well known in both The University of Tulsa community, where he was a professor in the Department of Religion from 1966 to 1985, and in the Tulsa interfaith community.
