Shifts filling up fast due to a wave of volunteers from the TU community.
Because of the tremendous response from the TU community, shifts are filling up fast to help build a new home for a deserving Tulsa family.
The project is part of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and begins Jan. 28.
Only two volunteer time slots remain for the Extreme Team. Volunteers are still needed for the following overnight shifts:
- Feb. 1, midnight to 7 a.m.
- Feb. 2, midnight to 7 a.m.
Students, employees, or campus organizations interested in volunteering for the build should call the Student Volunteer Center at 631-3535 or email email@example.com.
Tulsa-area home builder Simmons Homes has seen an incredible wave of support from the TU family. Simmons is taking the lead on the upcoming Extreme Makeover project, which will proceed 24 hours a day for nearly five days.
Both skilled and unskilled volunteers will perform various labor needs at the build site under the show’s supervision.
The Extreme Makeover project is a great opportunity to extend the community-driven focus of TU’s True Blue Neighbors initiative and provides an opportunity to share the TU story with the more than 10 million viewers who tune in to the program each Sunday evening.
TU salutes the many area companies and individuals who are supporting this initiative by donating their time and talents. For more information, see the full press release or visit www.utulsa.edu/extreme-home.
