Campus streets temporarily closed Saturday morning for community event

Thursday, September 09, 2010

Streets in and around the TU campus will be closed for a brief time on Saturday morning for a 5K/1K run benefiting a local nonprofit organization. Street closures will begin 7:30 a.m. Saturday on the following streets:

  • 11th Street from Delaware Avenue to Florence Place
  • Delaware Avenue from 11th Street to 5th Street
  • 5th Street from Delaware to Florence Avenue
  • Florence Avenue from 5th Street to 5th Place
  • 5th Place from Florence Avenue to New Haven Avenue (east of Harvard)

The run will start at the intersection of 11th Street and Florence Avenue and will finish at Chapman Stadium. A PDF of the course and the street closures can be found here.

These street closures will directly impact students living in campus apartments and the residence halls, as the parking lots for many campus communities will be closed for access between 7:30 a.m. and approximately 9:15 a.m. The south entrance of the Mayo Village Apartments will be open to 11th Street between 8:30-9:30 a.m. to accommodate students living in that apartment community.

Drivers who are not coming to watch or participate in this event should avoid this area.
