Campus Offices to Close at 4 p.m., Friday, July 1

To ease traffic congestion related to a large special event being held on campus, university offices will close at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1. Essential campus services, including food service and the Collins Fitness Center, will continue to follow regularly planned work schedules.
The Donald W. Reynolds Center will be hosting a Jehovah’s Witnesses district convention on July 1-3, with more than 5,000 people expected to attend each day. During the convention, heavy traffic is anticipated in and around campus due to the large number of guests attending the event, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Traffic will be especially congested along 8th Street near the Reynolds Center.
This event will coincide with regular university operating hours on Friday, July 1. To assist with parking, the university will allow students and employees to park in any designated TU lot except the premium lots (Lorton Hall, Phillips Hall, Harwell Hall) and the visitor parking areas at Collins Hall and ACAC. The Jehovah’s Witness organization will be providing parking lot attendants to assist their members during the meetings, and TU students/employees may park in their designated parking lots, if there are open spaces.
