Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Kayla Acebo, Ph.D., is a 24-year veteran in the field of institutional advancement in both the public and the private sectors of higher education and currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Planning and Outreach.
Dr. Acebo previously held the position of Assistant Vice President for University Development at OU-Tulsa; she also served as Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma, and Director of Public Relations and Publications at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.
Dr. Acebo has been actively involved in CASE – the Council for Advancement and Support of Education – for 22 years, and has served CASE District IV in a number of leadership capacities including current District Chair, Conference Chair of the 2002 conference in Oklahoma City, and Program Chair of the 1996 CASE District IV conference in Tulsa. She is a regular speaker for CASE at both the national and district level. She has been a faculty member for CASE at seven national “Newcomers to Development” conferences.
Dr. Acebo holds a bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, and a master’s degree in Business Management from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. In 2008, she received her Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from the University of Oklahoma.
