Veterans Center
Veterans Center
The University of Tulsa is committed to helping veterans and those in active duty benefit from the mentorship and scholarship a private university provides. TU offers many veteran services, including one-on-one help in navigating benefits, a dedicated Veterans Center and community connections with groups like the Blue Star Mothers.

Yellow Ribbon Program at TU
As a provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, the Yellow Ribbon Program combines GI benefits and university funding to give vets high-quality education.
Qualified veterans will receive 100 percent paid tuition as part of a new initiative at The University of Tulsa. TU is fully participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which is an extension of the Post-9/11 GI Bill. TU will provide tuition and other benefits for veterans pursuing undergraduate, graduate or law degrees at TU.
Paula Hogard, dean of lifelong learning, is leading TU’s efforts to support veterans at TU. She said veterans’ life experiences have taught them perseverance, discipline and dedication – all traits that will enrich the TU campus community.
University officials are working closely with the City of Tulsa’s Veteran’s Resource Center to ensure TU student-veterans have access to resources they might need.
To support TU student-veterans, the university has opened the Albert E. Schwab Veterans Resource Center. The center provides a place for veterans to meet and study, as well as consolidates veteran services on campus. The Schwab Veterans Resource Center is located in Zink Hall within the Division of Continuing Education offices.
The center is named after Private First Class Albert E. Schwab, who attended TU before serving in the Marine Corps. He is Tulsa’s only Medal of Honor recipient, and posthumously received the military’s highest honor for single-handedly taking out two strategic Japanese gun positions at the Battle of Okinawa.
