Professor Brown awarded national ornithology honor
Professor Brown awarded national ornithology honor

Charles R. Brown, professor of biological sciences, has received the 2009 Eliot Coues Award from the American Ornithologists' Union.
The AOU, the oldest ornithological society in North America, makes one such award annually for "extraordinary contributions to ornithological research" from throughout the world. Past recipients include many internationally known ecologists and avian biologists. The award was announced on August, 15 2009 at the AOU's annual meeting in Philadelphia.
Mary Bomberger Brown of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and former research associate at TU was co-recipient of the award.
