Exploring Cell Therapy
Exploring Cell Therapy
The Baures group, led by TU faculty members Paul Baures and John DiCesare, conducts research at the interface of chemistry and biology with a focus on the discovery of biologically-active molecules suitable for use as molecular probes of cells and with the potential for developing into therapeutic agents.
The group is completing a NIH Roadmap project to deliver imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid derivatives to the Molecular Library Small Molecule Repository (MLSMR) for testing by the Molecular Libraries Screening Center Network (MLSCN). Several of these derivatives are bioactive and his group is working to follow up on these lead structures. Students working on this project are given the opportunity to learn organic synthesis, purification and characterization of small organic molecules.
