GEOL 6544 - Igneous and Metamorphic Rocks and Processes
The important igneous and metamorphic rocks of the earth’s crust and their processes of formation, alteration, and occurrence in space and time. Laboratory stresses the coordination of megascopic and petrographic studies of rocks. Two lecture hours and one three-hour laboratory session each week. When field trips are required, a nominal fee over and above tuition is assessed to cover expenses. Prerequisite: Geol 2143.
