ME 6533 - Corrosion Engineering
Degradation of engineering materials (metals and polymers) due to their reaction with the environment. Fundamentals of corrosion thermodynamics and electrode kinetics. The many forms of corrosion and how they are controlled. Degradation of polymers. Emphasis on actual engineering failures caused by corrosion. Prerequisite: ME 3034 or ES 3013 or permission of instructor.
