ME 7163 - Structural Fatigue
New and conventional fatigue design approaches. Crack initiation, mean stress effects, notch effects, cyclic stress-strain behavior, mean and residual stress effects, cumulative damage, crack propagation, multiaxial fatigue, environmental effects, fatigue of mechanical components (weld, springs, gears, bearings). Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
