***THIS COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ALL HIGH SCHOOL GRADE LEVELS***
PURPOSE:
To provide high school students in the Tulsa area with encouragement to undertake research in their area of interest, provide exposure to a college atmosphere, and foster professional career development.
SUITABLE POSTER TOPICS:
Posters can cover topics from any field, as long as it is research oriented.
Does not have to include experimental research or be focused on math or science subjects.

Poster Guidelines:
Poster dimensions: 36” high by 48” wide (unfolded). Use a three-panel (tri-fold), heavy-duty corrugated display board or a tri-fold, foam-core presentation board. Posters must stand upright on a table once unfolded.
The poster should include an abstract, introduction, background, methodology, results and/or conclusions.
Judging will be based upon the technical merits and quality of the poster. Students must be available to answer judge’s questions during the first round of judging.
TENTATIVE AGENDA:
2:00 – 2:30 PM - Students arrive to setup their posters
2:30 – 3:30 PM - First Round of Judging (Students must be present at poster to answer questions)
3:30 – 4:45 PM - Second Round of Judging (Hall closed to students during review)
3:30 – 4:45 PM - Breakout Session Options for Students (Students can choose to attend 2 of the 3)
- Campus Tour with TU University Ambassadors
- Presentation on applying to college
- Presentation on undergraduate research options from TURC students
4:45 – 5:00 PM - Award Announcements*
*Students that are chosen for awards at the event will be invited to attend a Research Awards Banquet on Wednesday, April 4.

1st Place = $100 & 1 TU Undergraduate Course*
2nd Place = $75
3rd Place = $50
AAAS/SWARM
Best Science Presentation = $100
Runner-Up Science Presentation - $75
*The winning student must have a GPA of 3.5, a minimum 25 Composite ACT, and must complete the awarded course before high school graduation for the purposes of concurrent enrollment. If the winning student is unable to use the awarded course before graduating high school, they must then be admitted to TU to use the course before starting college full-time, typically the summer after graduating high school. The winner is not required to attend TU for their undergraduate degree but can be admitted as a non-degree seeking student after graduation if concurrent enrollment is not an option.
If a teacher supervised the winning student’s research, the teacher will receive tuition coverage for a graduate course at TU.
