CDDE 2383 - Deaf History and Culture

Introduction to deaf culture and the deaf experience from ancient times to present. Topics include the history of deaf education, social and psychological development of deaf and hard of hearing individuals, the impact on the family unit, and cultural similarities/differences that exist within the deaf and hearing communities.
