CDSP 7113 - Cognitive Communication Disorders
This course is a study of cognitive-communication disorders caused by different types of neurological damage. Direct and indirect management and intervention techniques for the speech-language pathologist are discussed. This course covers assessment and treatment issues related to dementia, traumatic brain injury, and right hemisphere dysfunction. The nature and effects of these conditions upon speech, language, and cognitivelinguistic skills are included as well as the latest research into brain injury.
