COM 3193 - Media, Culture and Power
This course explores the contribution of the Frankfort School to contemporary cultural and social criticism. It begins with key mid-20th century works by German-Jewish émigré intellectuals, continues with essays from the 1950s and 60s on mass culture, and ends with current books on media, culture and power. Prerequisite: Junior standing or permission of instructor.
