May include Conrad, Woolf, Richardson, Bennett, Lawrence, Mansfield, West, Wells, Sinclair, Forster, Warner, Ford, Rhys, and Huxley. Attention also to these writers’ affiliations with their Anglo-Irish and American cohorts, to the fiction’s intertextual relation to Victorian writing, and to other modern genres, especially selected prose essays.
