Hist 7003 - The Nature of History

Investigation of questions raised by historians, the assumptions they make, and the nature of evidence, and the variety of methods (including quantitative techniques) used to explain the past. Close reading of selected historical texts and critical discussions. Normally taken during the first year of graduate study.
