TU Student Wins Scholarship and Internship

TU Student Wins Foreign Language/Political Science Scholarship and Internship
TU student Alex Hankins, major in Russian studies and political science and member of TU's chapter of Phi Sigma Iota International Foreign Language Honor Society, won a $3000 scholarship through the Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems (ICPES), a sponsored affiliate, with Phi Sigma Iota, of The Fund for American Studies. With the scholarship, Hankins will take classes on economics and public policy at Georgetown University from June through August 2009 and work as an intern at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a leading economic think tank and free-market oriented policy research organization in Washington, D.C. Hankins will live in an apartment (covered by tuition) on or near the Georgetown campus for the duration of this program and have the opportunity to attend exclusive briefings at the White House, the Capitol, and various government agencies.
