THEA 4862 - Special Topics in Theatre
Examples: Dance Partnering - Introduction to traditional Ballet technique partnering positions including promenades, turns and lifts as well as contemporary dance lifts and partnering techniques exploring counter balance and weight sharing. This is a performance class focusing on physical skills. Prerequisite: Thea 2401 or permission of instructor. OR Advanced Choreography/Musical Theatre Choreography – Students will explore a specific work within a musical theatre score and develop a choreographic structure and/or explore formal dance works or experimental methods of composition. This is a performance class as well as an academic class which will require some historical research. Open to Dance Minors. Prerequisite: Thea 1121 or permission of instructor. Proficiency testing in reading music may be required.
