ARTH 6723 - Northern Renaissance Art

Painting, sculpture, and printmaking of Northern Europe in the 15th and 16th centuries. In the Netherlands, focuses on Jan van Eyck, the development of the Eyckian tradition, and the complex iconographic language of Bosch and Bruegel; in Germany, focuses on Durer, Grunewald, and the Danube School. Slide lecture and discussion.
