ARTH 6733 - 17th-Century Dutch and Flemish Painting

In this course, we examine the form and content of the two-dimensional arts of the Protestant Northern Netherlands and the Catholic Southern Netherlands, with a focus on the art patronage system and the art market as they shape the painting of the 1600s. Slide lecture/discussion.
