The University of Tulsa College of Engineering and Natural Sciences will host retired petroleum engineering and author John Turley for the Norman M. Hulings, Jr., Memorial Lecture.
Turley is a veteran of the petroleum industry who has worked at Phillips Petroleum, Fluor Ocean Services, Tenneco Oil and Marathon Oil.
His presentation, An Engineering Look at the Cause of the 2010 Macondo Blowout, discusses the cause of the Deepwater Horizon BP oil spill from engineering and management perspectives.
This event is free and open to the public. Turley will sign copies of his book, "THE SIMPLE TRUTH: BP's Macondo Blowout," immediately following the lecture.
