Senior Alaina Hamilton Earns Outstanding Senior Award from ACS Division of Organic Chemistry

Alaina Hamilton was recognized by the American Chemical Society Division of Organic Chemistry with the inaugural Undergraduate Award in Organic Chemistry. This award is conferred in honor of significant scholastic and research achievement in organic chemistry.
Hamilton will graduate in May with a degree in Biochemistry and carried out undergraduate research with Dr. Justin Chalker.
Hamilton has published two papers while at The University of Tulsa. Her first publication was a collaboration with Dr. Peeples that described an innovative organic chemistry teaching lab (Journal of Chemical Education). The second publication features a novel palladium catalyst system that Hamilton investigated for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and other valuable compounds in sustainable reaction media (Journal of Organic Chemistry).
