Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering with Chemical Engineering Option

The McDougall School of Petroleum Engineering offers a curriculum leading to the B.S. degree. The objective of the undergraduate program is to provide basic and applied knowledge in petroleum engineering, with equal emphasis on drilling and completion, production and reservoir areas using the fundamental building blocks of mathematics, physical and engineering sciences.

Specific Program Objectives

    1. Our alumni become competent petroleum engineering professionals.
    2. Our alumni are able to analyze and design engineering systems, understand the associated uncertainties, and evaluate the economic, environmental, and social impacts.
    3. Our alumni are able to synthesize inputs from various sources, apply multidisciplinary fundamentals and articulate technical concepts.

The basic 132-credit-hour curriculum is sufficiently flexible to allow a student to obtain a minor in geosciences, or in chemical or mechanical engineering with a few additional courses.
