Orientation week for the Class of 2017

Foundations of Legal Study (orientation) is a mandatory academic program that takes place the week prior to the beginning of fall classes. The program is designed to take law students through the first steps necessary for the study of law and to explore their professional obligations as they prepare to take their place in the legal profession.

Discussion of The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town, a 2006 nonfiction book by John Grisham. The discussion will center on 'Ron' Keith Williamson of Ada, Oklahoma who was wrongly convicted in 1988 for rape and murder and was sentenced to death. After serving 11 years on death row, he was exonerated by DNA evidence and other material introduced by the Innocence Project. (Vicki Hildebrand, JD 89)
