Judge Stephanie Seymour to Discuss Judicial Appointment Process at TU Feb. 19

Tenth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Stephanie K. Seymour will speak about “Judicial Appointment Process: How Broken Is It?” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 in the Gallery Room of the Allen Chapman Activity Center at Fifth Place and Gary Avenue on The University of Tulsa campus. The lecture is part of her two-day visit to TU as judge-in-residence at the College of Law.
The public is invited to this free event. A reception will follow.
Judge Seymour was born in Battle Creek, Mich. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and a law degree from Harvard Law School. She worked as a lawyer in Boston, Houston and Tulsa before being nominated for federal judicial service by President Jimmy Carter in 1979. She served as chief judge on the court from 1994-2000.
