Job Search Tool Available to TU College of Law Alumni Through Office of Professional Development

Monday, December 21, 2009

The Office of Professional Development at The University of Tulsa College of Law is rolling out new tools to inform alumni of up-to-date job leads and create connections between qualified job seekers and potential employers.

The “Symplicity” software offers a collection of utilities, beneficial to both potential employees and employers, to streamline the legal job search process. The tool allows users to:
    • create a profile including multiple cover letters and résumés tailored to specific job searches,
    • search job postings,
    • sort postings by practice area or location,
    • post open positions, and
    • request a compiled listing of posted résumés.

Job postings are updated daily and include all positions listed with the Office of Professional Development.

“This is an ongoing service provided by the College of Law that potentially benefits all of our alumni, whether they are recent graduates entering the workforce, experienced attorneys looking for a new opportunity, or hiring officials looking for qualified applicants,” said Kristine Bridges, assistant dean and director of professional development at the TU College of Law.

Bridges said even alumni who are not actively seeking a new position can benefit from Symplicity by keeping résumés online, watching trends within the industry and tracking qualified candidates.

Heather Rahhal, TU associate director for law alumni relations, said placement assistance is a common goal of both the alumni and professional development departments. Access to Symplicity is another service provided by the TU College of Law that can help all alumni.

“The College of Law offers many resources to its alumni, including seven free CLEs, access to the Mabee Legal Information Center, résumé and cover letter review, a monthly eNewsletter and access to the online community,” Rahhal said. “This new job search tool is another means to support our alumni.”

To gain 24-hour access to Symplicity, alumni should contact the Office of Professional Development at (918) 631-2430 or
