Results of Oklahoma’s latest bar exam, administered in February, show that TU College of Law graduates passed at a higher rate than the state average.

TU College of Law graduates who took the bar exam for the first time passed with an 88 percent success rate, compared with an 82 percent state average. The overall TU average, which includes first-time and repeat test takers, was 82 percent, exceeding the overall state average of 72 percent.

TU students also outperformed the state average in the July 2009 exam when 94 percent of first-time TU test takers passed the exam, compared with a 93 percent state average. The overall July passage rate for TU was 90 percent, compared to a statewide passage rate of 87 percent.

“I am incredibly proud of how our graduates performed on the bar exams,” said Janet Levit, Dean and Dean John Rogers Endowed Chair. “We remain confident that our students graduate with the necessary tools to pass the bar exam and so that they can make an immediate and meaningful contribution to the legal profession.”
