Thursday, January 28, 2010

The University of Tulsa College of Law is proud to announce a $50,000 gift from GableGotwals that will fund several scholarships at the law school. TU Alumni with the firm will be challenged to match this gift during the next year.

David E. Keglovits, a shareholder with GableGotwals, said the scholarships will be given to students from underrepresented populations within the law school.

“This gift will help build a pipeline of qualified job candidates from diverse backgrounds,” Keglovits said. “It’s absolutely critical for law firms to embrace diversity as a means of serving our clients.  As we increase the number and types of perspectives at our firm, we also increase the number and types of solutions we can provide our clients. Ultimately, this pipeline also will allow us to hire more TU graduates.”

GableGotwals has been a valuable partner to the law school, supporting a number of alumni and professional development programs, said Janet K. Levit, dean of the TU College of Law and Dean John Rogers Endowed Chair for the College of Law.

“GableGotwals has long been a stalwart friend to the TU College of Law. We are deeply appreciative of their continued investment in the success of our students and the Tulsa legal community,” she said.

GableGotwals currently employs 19 attorneys who are TU College of Law alumni. Keglovits said he expects several more to be hired in coming years.

Students who receive a scholarship funded by this gift will be known as GableGotwals Scholars at the TU College of Law.
