It wasn’t quite fire in a bowl, but the “Fire in the Hole” chili made by a team of students from The University of Tulsa College of Law was the big winner at the 2010 TU Law Chilifest Cookoff. The event was held February 26 at the Allen Chapman Activity Center on the TU campus.
Head chef Arthur Loyd and his teammates Colin Hughes, Mark Smith, Derek Weinbrenner and Elliot Scruggs took home the coveted Traveling Chilibowl Trophy for winning Best Overall Chili. The team also won Most Creative Recipe.
The Best Presentation award went to the spray-tanned Jersey Shore – DTP Style team by Delta Theta Phi and their “The Situation” chili. Best Traditional Chili was awarded to Brewster & De Angelis PLLC for their "Ranch Hand Chili.” Thomas & Underwood Go Green won Best Non-Traditional Chili with “Split the Sheets Chili.”
The TU Law Chilifest Cookoff is held annually by the TU College of Law and the TU Law Alumni Association. This year 29 teams consisting of law student groups, law firms and other groups from the legal community competed.
