Russell Orban has joined the Washington, D.C., office of Husch Blackwell, LLP, as Of Counsel. Husch Blackwell is a litigation and business law firm with 600 attorneys in locations throughout the United States and in London. Orban concentrates his work in the areas of governmental affairs and government contracts law. He has more than 30 years of experience advising members of the U.S. Congress, House committees, and federal agencies on public policy, legal, and operational matters. Prior to joining Husch Blackwell, Orban was General Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Small Business.
Timothy E. Tipton has joined the Tulsa law firm of Sanders & Associates, PC. The firm has been in existence since 1995 and represents clients in all aspects of cases involving auto accidents, personal injury, workers compensation, and social security benefits.
Tery Denise DeShong is the new legal counsel for the Tulsa City-County Health Department. DeShong joined the Health Department after 13 years with the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Child Support Services. For the past four years, DeShong was the Eastern Regional Administrator for OKDHS Child Support, where she supervised 16 child support offices in Eastern Oklahoma, and was the managing attorney for the Tahlequah Office of Child Support Services.
Richard Gebhart, Professor of Operations Management and Director of Assessment in TU’s Collins College of Business, has been named to the national Beef Promotion Operating Committee. The Committee is a 20-member panel that allocates annual funding to beef demand-building programs with money collected through the beef checkoff, a commodity market development program funded by U.S. beef producers and importers. Gebhart and his family operate the Beacon Hill Ranch near Langley, which has been a family-owned Hereford Ranch since 1909.
Robert J. Carlson has recently been named as shareholder to the law firm of GableGotwals in Tulsa. GableGotwals, a full-service law firm representing a diversified client base across the nation, has offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

Josiah Daniel has written an article, "Keeping ABL Loans Competitive" that will publish in April in the RMA Journal, a banking journal published by The Risk Management Association.
Minon M. Frye and Tiffany A. Huss have combined practices to form the Tulsa Metro Law Center, PLLC, located at 803 A North Elm Place in Broken Arrow. The firm concentrates in the areas of family law, juvenile law, estate planning, real property, and business law.
Jeff Tracy is now working in Bartlesville for ConocoPhillips in their Real Estate Services Division. Previously, Tracy worked for the law firm of Eldridge Cooper Steichen & Leach P.L.L.C.
Kelly Norton recently completed a year-long judicial clerkship in Fairbanks, Alaska, clerking for The Honorable Paul R. Lyle at the Superior Court for the Fourth Judicial District. She and Travis Powers will be getting married on July 3, 2011, in Taneytown, Maryland.
