TU President Steadman Upham Delivers Keynote at Spring Hooding Ceremony

The University of Tulsa College of Law held its spring hooding ceremony Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 3 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on the TU campus.
Of the 118 new graduates, 115 students received J.D. degrees and 3 students received LL.M. degrees.
The featured speaker for the hooding ceremony was TU President Steadman Upham. "You now begin a journey down a path to a profession that is at once noble in its construction, enduring in its value, and vital in its practice," he said as he described the formation of legal tradition in an archaeological context.
Two students were also presented with awards. Emilie Blanchard received the Martin Fellows Smith Award which is given to the most outstanding student in the College of Law as determined by faculty.
Jason McVicker won the Judge W. Lee Johnson Award as class valedictorian.
