TU Law logoTulsa, OKLA - Oklahoma Bar Association President, Cathy Christensen, the OBA Board of Governors and members of the American Board of Trial Attorneys (ABOTA) will be at The University of Tulsa College of Law on Tuesday, October 23 to give a presentation entitled "Civility Matters". Presenters will speak in the Dean’s Seminar, a required course for incoming law students that offers an overview of various aspects of legal practice in America. Speakers will include Judge Michael Gassett, Judge Edward Cunningham and distinguished attorneys Bill Grimm, who was formerly OBA President, Dan Fulluo, and John Woodard.

Now in its third year, the 2010 incoming class was the first to participate in the new Dean’s Seminar. Led by Janet Levit, Dean and Dean John Rogers Endowed Chair, the Dean’s Seminar provides a foundation for students’ professional development and market readiness upon graduation. The classroom component consists of six weekly sessions covering topics such as ethical obligations of lawyers to clients, the court, and the bar; leadership skills and professional paths for juris doctor candidates; and duty to serve the public interest. The classroom sessions are followed by four professional development sessions. The “Civility Matters” presentation is the final Dean’s Seminar session this semester.
