TU ranked sixth in the nation by preLaw Magazine
The University of Tulsa College of Law Externship Program is ranked #6 in the nation in the September issue of preLaw Magazine, a National Jurist publication.
In December 2012, TU College of Law, in partnership with Oklahoma-based law firm McAfee & Taft, launched a comprehensive experiential learning program designed to offer law students essential training and networking opportunities. The program, lead by Assistant Dean and Director of Experiential Learning, Christy Caves, has allowed TU law students abundant practical learning opportunities through invaluable relationships with law firms; federal, state, and tribal courts; government agencies; non-profit organizations; and corporate partners.
Caves said, “This fall, more students are enrolled in externships than in any previous fall semester in the school’s history. We have seen a 250% increase in the number of students participating in the externship program compared to this time last year. This growth is attributed to the students’ desire to gain more practical skills in a supportive learning environment coupled with the meaningful mentoring experiences that our partner supervisors graciously provide.”
