Minority Law Awareness Day reaches local high school students
Wednesday, March 06, 2013
Minority Law Awareness Day, an event that celebrates and encourages diversity in the field of law, was held at TU College of Law on February 22. This year, approximately 40 students from seven different high schools in the Tulsa area participated in the program. The event is an opportunity to build and cultivate a relationship with minority students interested in pursuing a career in law.
The event provides useful information about the study and practice of law to local minority students. Students listened to guest speaker Loretta Radford and participated in a mock trial presentation. Lunch was provided with local minority lawyers and TU law students. Students traveled to meet with Judge Carlos Chappelle and tour the Tulsa County Courthouse. Conner and Winters also welcomed students with a tour of the law firm.
