Welcome from the Dean
Welcome from the Dean
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the University of Tulsa College of Law website. Throughout the new website, you will discover that TU Law is a dynamic institution committed to excellence - excellence in the quality of our students, excellence in faculty teaching and scholarship, excellence in our academic and clinical programs, and excellence in our commitment to public service. Imbedded in our common theme of excellence, you also will find a warm sense of community and a pledge of decency in our relationships with others.
I invite you to explore our many web links. You will find that we have a strong reputation for training future generations to Think and Practice like lawyers. In addition to our strong curriculum in basic general bar subject courses, we offer our students an opportunity to specialize in a number of areas in their upper level courses. Our Native American Law Program is ranked among the best in the nation, and through our Comparative and International Law Center, students have an opportunity to take a number of international law, human rights, and business courses, as well as to participate in one or more of our foreign study programs in London, Dublin, Geneva, Buenos Aires, or Tianjin China. We also have a nationally recognized Energy and Environmental Policy institute, providing a rich curriculum and certificate program focusing on energy, environmental and natural resource law and policy.
You can also get a quick snap-shot of our law school community through our news and events, center highlights, and faculty and student profiles. Read about our faculty who are working on cutting-edge scholarship; peruse through our student links to see their activities in national competitions, law journals, student organizations, and public service projects in Tulsa and abroad; and discover our distinguished alumni, many of whom give back to the law school on a daily basis by serving on faculty or university committees, recruiting prospective students, or serving as mentors to law students.
Alumni and friends may want to focus on the Resources available through the College. In addition to offering resources for continued legal research, career development, and legal education, we also provide up-to-date information about our upcoming symposiums, lecture series, and other enriching events. For those who may have been out of touch with us for awhile, we can also help you reconnect with fellow classmates!
We are proud to be a part of a top-ranked doctrinal research University, a vibrant city with a strong economy, and a community that is grounded in public service and focused on global issues. Both the College of Law and the University welcome you to explore all that we have to offer. Join us in our commitment to excellence. At TU College of Law, knowledge, practice, and a strong ethical foundation will prepare you for a lifetime of professional achievements.
Warmest regards,
Dean Janet Koven Levit
